Auto wind on Hoist on T85

Auto wind on hoist while raising and lowering mast not working .

Did trouble shooting with Potain and used these screens to determine if signal was getting to processor and then to drive.
Also screen will show you how much weight on load line  while going up was consistent at around 800-1000 lbs  going down was around 0-250

We found brake disc on hoist was hanging up just enough to cause the issue.  Took apart Hoist brake and cleaned and anti seazed everything and all seems to be working now

Use videos for reference of what should be chaning on outputs when you start to raise the mast IMG_9049

Crane will not start – Three phase power missing

Operator complains crane will not start and the display shows Three phase power supply missing.  Check for incoming power and all 3 phases.  If power is correct on each of the three legs (277 VAC), check contactor K102M.  A1 terminal should be receiving 277VAC on the A1 terminal.  If that is correct, coil in contactor may be bad.   Remove wire from terminal 22, hold in contactor and start the crane.  If crane starts and runs, the contactor coil has failed.

To bypass contactor K102M wire the incoming and outgoing 3 phase wires together and disconnect terminal 22 on K102M. This will allow the crane to function until the K102M can be replaced.

Potain part # for K102M = 84034156

Multi-Quip Generator “no start”

Symptom : Generator ran fine when shut down, Went to start the next morning, the fuel pump would prime, engine cranked a few revolutions but engine would not start, subsequent tries would prime fuel pump but no engine start sequence.

Fix: Replace ECU fuse -15amp

Procedure:

  1. Remove  2 thumb  screws holding on instrument panel.
  2.  Locate  fuse holder *see attached photo Fuse(original fuse was a 15amp Buss Fuse)
  3. Replace  blown fuse with 15Amp blade fuse- If no fuse is available running the generator in diagnostic mode will bypass this circuit assuming all other parameters are correct.

IMT Knuckle Boom

The lights for the outriggers were not working.  Called IMT, we opened up the RCL 5300 which is the pad on the side with all the buttons, and found one of the wires 52, or 53, to be loose on the power side.  Took out and reconnected and all worked fine.

Warning Light on RT Mobile Crane

Warning alarm and beeper going off in cab.

Recalibrate length indicator and angle sensor according to PAT manual (found in mobile crane folder).  Light would still go off at restart, but after any movements, light would go off.  Scoped all the way out and then back in, and light has remained off.
