Crane load indication accuracy

1917.46(a)(1)(ii)

The accuracy of the load indicating device, weight-moment device, or overload protection device shall be such that any indicated load (or limit), including the sum of actual weight hoisted and additional equipment or “add ons” such as slings, sensors, blocks, etc., is within the range between 95 percent (5 percent underload) and 110 percent (10 percent overload) of the actual true total load. Such accuracy shall be required over the range of daily operating variables reasonably anticipated under the conditions of use.

Vicario will only hoist in 1st speed

When going into 2nd speed or faster, drive will fault.  Trolley and swing still work at full speed.

The speed sensor is not reading the speed of the hoist drum.  Need to make sure no dirt or grease is preventing the speed sensor from reading properly.

If everything is clean and clear, may be a bad speed sensor, you can change a parameter to ignore the speed sensor

Vicario kicking out when cabling down with load

Customer stated when cabling down with load the hoist would kick out seem to be more frequent when the weather was bad opened up panel above electrical panel to check out dynamic breaking resistors and found one bolt missing a nut replace nut and put back together

Vicario Fast Crane Mast won’t go up

During erection, jib would go up, but mast would not.  Pressure would build on hydraulics, but mast wouldn’t move.

Counterweight sensor was not reading.  Jumper 18A -18, and mast would go.
